This page is linked from every “Confirmed” line on the site. Here’s exactly what that word means.
01 · Before it publishes
Every deal passes a check before it goes live, one of three ways. An editor checks it: we call the bar, we visit, we read the chalkboard. Our reader checks it against the bar’s own website: every price and every hour must appear on the venue’s own page, word for word, and two independent reads of that page must agree, or the deal waits for an editor instead. Or the bar announces it on its own Instagram: our reader brings the post in through Instagram’s official tools, and an editor reads the post itself before anything publishes. Nothing from Instagram ever goes live without a person. Tips from readers always wait for an editor; anything we can’t verify shows as “Not yet verified” or doesn’t show at all.
02 · Who checked it, always named
Three kinds of check, always labeled and never blended: Trufa staff means an editor checked it directly. People at the bar means someone standing in the room tapped “Confirm this deal.” The bar’s own page means our reader matched every price against the venue’s own website and left a receipt on the deal. A deal read from the bar’s own Instagram says so instead (“From the venue’s Instagram”) and links the post an editor read before it published; the deal itself always says which. One crowd tap never overrides a staff check, and a page read never claims to be a phone call.
03 · Going stale
Every deal shows when it was last confirmed. Past 30 days it’s marked stale and drops in every list until someone re-checks it. When reports pile up against a price, we say so on the page while we look.
04 · Nobody pays
No venue can buy a listing, a ranking, or a re-check. Rankings come from saves and confirmations. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
